Swegon celebrates double success at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2026

Swegon is proud to celebrate a fantastic achievement at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards, taking home two awards in the categories we were shortlisted for. The recognition highlights our continued commitment to delivering innovative solutions that improve building performance while supporting the transition to more sustainable HVAC systems.

Product or Innovation of the Year – Building Performance Evaluation

Winner: WISE

Our WISE system was awarded Product or Innovation of the Year – Building Performance Evaluation, recognising its ability to help buildings operate exactly as intended.

WISE is Swegon’s intelligent system for demand-controlled indoor climate. By continuously monitoring indoor conditions and adapting airflow in real time, it ensures the right amount of air is delivered exactly where and when it’s needed.

This responsive approach helps deliver several key benefits:

  • Improved indoor comfort for occupants
  • Reduced energy consumption through demand-based ventilation
  • Verified building performance aligned with design intent

By combining advanced control with continuous monitoring, WISE enables buildings to perform more efficiently and provides valuable data to ensure systems continue operating at their best throughout their lifecycle.

Judges Comments: “Based on extensive research and development, the product demonstrates measurable, repeatable and evidence based performance improvement from evaluation of real building performance data. Well-evidenced operations and maintenance, good post-occupancy feedback and genuine performance outcomes.”

Embodied Carbon Award – Products and Systems (Manufacturers and Suppliers)

Winner: RE:3

Swegon also won the Embodied Carbon Award – Products and Systems, recognising our RE:3 initiative and its focus on reducing the environmental impact of HVAC solutions.

RE:3 reflects our commitment to sustainability across the entire product lifecycle. The initiative focuses on reducing embodied carbon by rethinking materials, improving manufacturing processes and promoting the reuse of resources.

By embedding circular thinking into product development, RE:3 supports the industry’s wider transition towards lower-carbon building services and helps move the sector closer to its net-zero ambitions.

Judges Comments: “The winner shows the huge potential for embodied carbon reductions in building equipment/systems through the replacement of conventional materials. Swegon has gone through the process of assessing the embodied carbon of their products and identified the key carbon emitters and took steps towards reducing them. Beyond this, it has shown the capacity to go beyond conventional thinking in terms of low-carbon and circular product design.”

Recognising innovation and collaboration

Winning two awards at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards is a proud moment for everyone at Swegon. It reflects the dedication, expertise and collaboration of teams across the business who work every day to develop solutions that improve building performance while supporting sustainability goals.

We would like to thank Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers for recognising the innovation behind these solutions, and we congratulate all the other nominees and winners celebrated on the night.

As the industry continues to focus on performance, efficiency and carbon reduction, Swegon remains committed to developing solutions that help create healthier, more sustainable indoor environments.

Sven Rotgers, VP Sales Area UK & Ireland, has commended Swegon on this achievement:

“We’re incredibly proud to see both WISE and RE:3 recognised at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards. These accolades reflect the dedication of our teams and our continued focus on delivering solutions that improve building performance while reducing environmental impact. It’s encouraging to see our innovations supporting the industry’s journey towards net zero and to receive recognition of this from the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.”
