Swegon announces the availability of Declare labels

The Declare label allows manufacturers to disclose material ingredients and health information. This two-in-one label makes complex information approachable and useful, gives manufacturers a robust structure to share product data, and saves designers time. The International Living Future Institute applauds this milestone achievement for Swegon and its dedication to creating a transparent and sustainable world.

“We are proud to be the first HVAC manufacturer to offer products with the Declare label, continuing our tradition of leading the industry in materials transparency and product certification,” said Jeff Bayley, Managing Director of Swegon North America. “Our customers increasingly seek knowledge about the hazards associated with the products installed in buildings. Our Declare labels not only disclose the ingredients of our products, they also tell our customers that they are using products that have been screened against the Red List.”

Swegon’s GOLD RX air handling unit, Sil-Throw air distribution system, and a wide variety of acoustic silencers, plenums, enclosures, and barriers are available with the Declare label. Products bearing the Red List Free or Red List Approved Declare label contribute to the materials transparency requirements of several building certification programs, including Living Building Challenge, WELL, LEED, Collaborative for High-Performance Schools, and Enterprise Green Communities.
