Our Swegon GOLD RX air handling unit has been selected for the Innovation Gallery of the 2023 CLIMATIZACIÓN Y REFRIGERACIÓN fair in Spain after a jury assessed it based on the following parameters: product’s level of innovation, energy efficiency, respect for the environment, quality, design and the use of energy from renewable sources.
The GOLD RX air handler is highly energy efficient, resulting in a low operational carbon footprint. The specific unit chosen for the innovation gallery is a concept unit manufactured with recycled and renewable steel, which is also planned for gradual introduction in ongoing production. This steel allows for a notable reduction of the embodied carbon content, addressing the industry’s next urgent challenge.
The steel used is Magnelis XCarb® RRP, primarily produced from recycled steel and processed using 100% renewable energy. Based on the existing Environmental product declaration (EPD) for GOLD RX, size 12, the total global warming potential (GWP) is expected to be reduced by approximately 20% with a complete replacement of all traditional steel.
